Pennsylvania in 1989 and 1992, respectively (systems
engineering). Research: numerical optimization.
Post-doc at the Technical University of
Denmark ( Department of Numerical
Analysis) (1992-1994). I joined Bilkent
University in Sept. 1994. During a sabbatical year in Belgium,
I taught at the Université Catholique
de Louvain ( Institut
d'Administration et de Gestion) (now, Louvain School of Management) in Louvain-la-neuve (October 1999
to September 2000), and worked as a guest researcher
at the Université Libre de Bruxelles,
Service de Mathématiques de la
Gestion. I spent the year 2007-2008 in Princeton University as a Fulbright
scholar at the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering.
I was visiting professor at the Department of Statistics and Quantitative Methods, University of Milano, Bicocca, January 2015, 2017 and 2018; at the Department of Computer Science, University
of L'Aquila, Italy, September-November 2010, September-December 2017, and at Institut de Mathématiques,
Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France, June 2007.
